Go Free Pants Review, An Absolutely Awesome Pair of Pants

I think that all woman like to feel beautiful, sexy, and be comfortable.
I was intrigued when I came across a company called Go Free!  It started with a woman that wanted a better design for pants.  Here is how it all started!

"I was watching The Today Show while they were interviewing a female doctor about women’s health issues including postpartum depression, breast cancer and heart disease. Regarding  bladder and yeast infections, the doctor said, "The less women wear down there, the better." My own mother had told me that for years. About a week later, I was at our monthly "Girls Night Out", and I told my friends what the doctor on the Today Show had said. That's when several of my girl friends admitted that they go "commando" (no underwear). I had no idea! A few of the girls said they wear thongs to get rid of panty lines. I was a "granny pant" girl! My friends are all lovely ladies of every shape and size, but not what I imagined a thong or commando type to be. They encouraged me to try it, so I did."~~GoFreePants  Read more on their story here.

This got me thinking about how I use to constantly battle with bladder infections.  I use natural means to help me detox and reduce the instances of UTI's, but what if I can be more proactive in reducing the occurs further?  I mean it makes complete sense to me, so I wanted to see how comfortable they are.

I was very excited to try the Tina Business Casual Grey.  These are a beautiful pair of pants that are amazingly comfortable.  I will admit at first I could not do the whole commando thing.  I wore them first traditional and the second time I wore them as intended.  I was shocked!  I was comfortable, there were no lines, and I was being proactive in reducing the chances of my bladder infections.  These have easily become one of my favorite pairs of pants now!  For one I think grey can be wore in all occasions and seasons so it was a wonderful choice for me. The reason these pants are so comfortable is that there is no cross seam.  Instead you have a built in smooth cotton, breathable, panel that is very comfortable.

Indian Mixed Vegetable Curry

Indian Mixed Vegetables Curry
1 red bell pepper, cubed
1/2 yellow onion, cubed
1 zucchini,cubed
1/2 large eggplant, cubed
6-8 large white mushrooms, 1/4 cuts
4 cups of water
1 cup cooked black beans
5 tbsp green curry paste recipe.

Tonight we are having it Burrito style!

I am using a nonstick wok, which works great for cooking vegetables without all the oil.

Once the vegetables are cooked down, I add in the green curry.

I add in 5 tbsp of green curry paste, the 4 cups of water, and continue to cook.

Add in your 1 cup of black beans and continue to cook about another 20 minute on a medium heat.  Cook until all vegetables are tender and water is evaporated.
Remember this can be served over rice, as a burrito, or by itself.

This has Indian spices with help to add digestion.  This is a medium heat curry, you can add more heat with some heat peppers.

Green Curry Paste Recipe

Green Curry Paste
2 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp black peppercorns
4 large green chillies, seeded
1/2 yellow onion
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup cilantro
salt
2 tbsp coconut oil

In a food processor blend all ingredients until a smooth paste.  Then put in a dry clean jar for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.  If you are not making a large amount of curry that you can freeze half of this in a freezable container.

I use this paste with cooked vegetables.  You can use any of your favorite vegetables.  This week I am making eggplant, zucchini, onions, and potatoes.  Yummy!  This can be served with vegetables over rice, as a veggie burrito,or by it self.  Lots of great flavor and healthful foods.

Artic Zero Review, A Healthier Ice Cream.

I am usually not a big Ice Cream person unless it's a birthday party, and even then not often.  When I was first asked about looking at an ice cream company, I was ready to say no, until I read more about them.  I was first intrigued that they are Non GMO!  Then I noticed all the features of their ice cream and thought I have to try this!

Arctic Zero sent me all 8 of their featured ice cream to try!  First was a little worried about when they were being shipped because its Ice Cream and we live in Arizona, you know the valley of the SUN!  I was worried it would be a big puddle of cream without the ice.  Arctic Zero has excellent shipping!  When I got home one night after 3 hours of gymnastics I found a box by the front door.  As you can see the ice cream was still frozen with no danger of melting!

We decided to have a fun little ice cream party to try them all out.  We all got to taste the different flavors each having their own favorites.  Michael enjoyed the Mint chocolate chip the most.  Veronica chose strawberry as her favorite ice cream.  Gabriella liked them all, of course!  Kirsten could not decided, she said she needed to have another serving of them all to real make a educated decision! Kirsten is my sweet tooth girl, if you had not noticed.

Arctic Zero*** No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Sweeteners!!  With amazing taste!!

I wanted to show both pictures to see the labels and the colors of the ice cream.  These were very delicious and a great choice for our family!  I am very concerned with ingredients and how companies try to sneak in toxic ingredients.  Arctic Zero takes pride as a healthier ice cream!  This delicious treat can actually be looked at as a Protein Shake in ice cream form!  I personally feel better about giving this treat to my kids without the large amounts of sugar.  The pints actually are a great size amounts too!  I like that each pint only has 150 calories.  You can enjoy the treat without all the guilt of ruining your workout.

"At Arctic Zero, we love ice cream. We’ve always loved ice cream. But we hated the fact that everyone who loves it pays for it in the worst possible way: compromising their health. Nothing else on the market came close to offering both great taste and demonstrated health benefits, so we decided to invent a great tasting dessert that did."~~Arctic Zero.

Are your Kids Eating GMO corn, and More GMO News!

Are your kids eating the Monsanto GMO Sweet corn?
"This summer, Monsanto began selling its first GMO sweet corn product in grocery stores such as Walmart. The sweet corn is engineered to withstand the weed-killer Roundup and also to contain an insecticide (Bt toxin) within the cells of the corn."~~Right to Know Blog.
This is very sad, and most people do not know about it.  I had to explain to a family member the other day that GMO is not another term for organic.  It is a totally other subject matter and one I am appalled that not one of our Presidential Candidates are talking about.  This is a real problem!  The corn that they are making available in the stores might be the same corn that the rats ate! (see study/article here).

On a happy note it looks like vote 37 is likely to pass in California!
"By more than a 2-to-1 margin, California voters favor an initiative to require food manufacturers and retailers to label fresh produce and processed foods that contain genetically engineered ingredients.  With less than six weeks until election day, Proposition 37 is supported by 61% of registered voters and opposed by 25%, according to a new USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll. An additional 14% were undecided or refused to answer."~~CARightToKnow.

Also, check out the Health Rangers thoughts on the 10 cereals your eating that are most likely to have GMO products in them!!  You might be surprised!   The top 10 breakfast cereals most likely to contain Monsanto's GMO corn.

Disclaimer:  I am in no way say that these food will give you cancer.  These test have not been done on humans.  This is information to bring to my readers so they can make informed decisions on the foods they purchase.  I support foods getting back to natural and green!

Pumpkin Pancakes Recipe

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
6 eggs

Use some organic vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit, and dive in!

To make the perfect pancake you pour into medium size circles.  Wait for little bubbles form on the surface and then flip.  Let the pancake site for about half a minute and then take off the grittle.   Pancakes have a beautiful orange brown color.  Taste is fall and spice in every bite.

I like to use yogurt on my pancakes with some beautiful fresh fruit.  These still taste amazing with maple syrup, according to the kids.

Fall Activities Desert Style!

In case you have never been to the desert of Arizona let me share with you a bit of our natural rugged beauty.  My first trip to AZ was 15 years ago and I feel in love with it instantly.

Our temperatures are starting to cool down but we still have some of the afternoon heat.  One of our favorite things to do is go on Nature trails and hikes.  Monday we decided to stay close to home and take an afternoon walk to collect things to make our Nature Pals.  This was a cute idea my daughter had to make people out of some of the items we find on our walk.  We will make these into ornaments that represent each of us and our beautiful land.

Tuesday, we wanted to head over to another favorite destination in Tucson, the Sonora Desert Museum.  We have the Family Membership so it is a great play to get out and enjoy some fresh air, local animals, the wild on the lose finds, and much more.

Today,  one of the beautiful treasures was the amount of butterfly's we found.  The place was covered in them everywhere you turn.

We started our day over to the Ancient Arizona exhibit.  This is were you start by going down in to the cooling underground cave.  The kids get to see gyms, fossils, rocks, and more.
Michael loves all the dinosaur history, fossils, and information.  The kids could spend half their time in this part alone.

Some of my favorites Opals and  turquoise. (Left)
On the right you see some of the stalagmites and cave rivers.

Coming out of the cave we are in the paleontology dig site.  Here the kids can be paleontologist and work in the dirt to find fossils and treasures that lie beneath.

They have a wonderful station, covered, that has treasurers under all the sand.  On the right the girls are working on the initial areas to find and identify whats on the sign above them.  The kids found all the items!!

There is also two stations that are designed to let kids hammer and sweep away to find the fossils.  They found a coral fossil.  They recorded it in the book and got to take it home!  They all took turns sweeping and hammering to get it out carefully.

Most of the Museum is all walking and trails, with natural animal habitat viewing.  While it is a sunny day, I like that they use plenty of plants and trees to provide beauty and shade.

Then we headed over to the Butterfly Garden to see what was going on.

Here we saw a ton of Yellow, Black, Purple, Blue, and Orange Butterfly.  Unfortunately they always flew away before I could get close to get on my phone.

The plants are always a neat find for me to see how they always use plants that you will find in Arizona.

In the B. Garden they had tons of great information on the life cycle and benefits of butterfly's.

Next we headed over to the Hummingbird exhibit.  Today was wonderful because they really let us get up close and see they more. These beautiful birds are so delicate and sweet.  I could spend all day on one of the DM very comfy benches and just watch them all day.

We decided to pass on the animal and just hike around.  We like to change it up and visit different sections when we come.  Here are a few of my pictures of the different ares on our walk.

The desert has many types of cactus.  Some of the walking trails are paved and some are dirt like you see on the right.  I usually like to tell the kids to wear tennis shoes for hiking, but we knew we where going to be staying on the pavement trails today.  The desert view and walking through the upper left side of the park is a wonderful experience you do not want to miss.  It is a little more hiking though.
These are a few of the lose and interesting critters we got to enjoy.  We always see some kind of lizards, sometimes snakes, rabbits, and squirrels.    This is a living museum, so you are always watching where you step.

A few more views of our day.  I love the desert!

The sun was shining hard on the sign and it was hard not to get a glare.  You can spend an entire day walking the grounds and loops, seeing animals, bugs, birds, panoramic views, and so much more.  We go all the time and see something new.  In fact the kids wanted to back the very next day.  A big plus is that they have bathrooms and water stations all throughout the park.  They also have a top notch restaurant, ice-cream shops, vending machines, and coffee shops!  In the winter it's great to grab my complementary coffee, as a member, and walk the park.  While we have enjoyed the restaurant we like to bring in our packed lunches and have a picnic sometimes too.

What do we bring?
Hats, glasses, water, lotion, and our kids explorer stamp book!!

Check them out on Facebook, where you will see more up close pictures of the animals.

Multipurpose Orange Vinegar Cleaner, Green Living

Multipurpose Orange Vinegar Cleaner

Peels of 2 oranges
White Vinegar
small mason jar

In a clean mason jar I add in orange peels from 2 oranges.  Then I add white Vinegar until it reaches the top.  Place on the lid and set aside for 1 week.  Then you remove the peels and place your orange smelling vinegar in a spray bottle for quick counter clean ups.  I love to use this in the bathrooms, counters, cabinets, everywhere.  The kids use to complain when they could smell the vinegar, but not any more.

Good Eatin' Recipe is Black Eye Peas Curry

This week I am featuring a healthy dish that has a lot of exploding taste for your health.  I love Indian food, and I am very lucky to have a friend who has taught me a lot about making Indian cuisine.  Indian food has many wonderful health benefits.  The spices that make the base of flavor help to aid digestion, aid circulation, and more.  While most people assume all Indian food is spicy, you can moderate that.  I typically make two dishes of the same dish.  One medium heat for the kids and myself and  HOT one for my spicy husband.

Black-Eye Peas Curry
1 1/2 cups dry Black-Eye Peas
1 medium yellow onion
1 garlic clove crushed
1 tsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
2/3 cup water
cilantro leaves, chopped for garnish
1 tbsp Lemon juice

This is one of my favorite dishes to make since it is a good source of Protein, Carbohydrates, Fiber, no fat, no cholesterol, rich in potassium, zinc, and iron.
Benefits of Indian spices: protects against cold, aids digestion, reduce anemia.

Boil black eye peas until tender but not mushy.  Drain beans and set aside.
In my Ozeri wok, I drizzle coconut oil and then add in onions.  Cook for 5-8 minutes stirring frequently until onions are a golden color.
Now add spices garlic, chili powder, salt, ground coriander, cumin, and stir mixture for 3-5 minutes.

This what the mixture will look like as you stir in the spices.

Add in 2/3 cup of water, stir, and simmer until all water is evaporated.

Add the black-eye peas to onion mixture and stir until combined.

Serve Black-eye peas in a bowl, add lemon juice and cilantro for garnish.  This dish can be served hot or cold.
